About the Artist

Hala Kamouna (b. 2000, Baghdad) is a contemporary Iraqi visual artist. She studied Fine Arts, specializing in exploring human emotion through an experimental visual language that combines hand drawing with diverse materials. Her work focuses on expressing sorrow, nostalgia, and the search for self, transforming personal experiences into shared visual memory. She has exhibited her work in both solo and group shows in Iraq and internationally, gaining recognition for her emotional honesty and depth. Hala has collaborated with artists and designers on projects that integrate Arabic calligraphy with experimental visual art. She is currently working on new artistic projects that explore the limits of visual expression, establishing herself as a contemporary voice in the Arab art scene
