About the Artist
Doaa Eldemerdash, born in Kuwait in 1989, is an Egyptian visual artist who works with drawing, printmaking, and mixed media. She received her PhD in Fine Arts, Graphic Arts Major, from Helwan University in 2024, where she explored the idea of illusion in postmodern art. Her work often examines memory, imagination, and visual storytelling, using simple marks and forms to create layered images. She has exhibited her work in numerous shows, including *Second Look* at the Faculty of Fine Arts (2023), *Fish or Elephant* at The Gallery (2023), the Cairo Opera House General Exhibition, the Youth Salon, the Goethe Institute, and Bibliotheca Alexandrina. She has received several awards, including the ARAC Foundation for Arts Award (2015) and the Engraving Award at the Avant-garde Exhibition (2012). In addition to her artistic practice, she is a Visiting Lecturer at Misr International University and Galala University, where she shares her passion for art with students while continuing to develop her own creative work.
