About the Artist

Amer Alissa is an award-winning Syrian graphic designer and modern calligrapher. He won gold and silver medals at the INDIGO Awards in Amsterdam in 2018 and 2020 for two of his branding and logo design projects.At the end of 2020, he had the privilege of participating in EXPO 2020 Dubai, performing two live calligraphy shows inside the Syrian pavilion. Over the past nine years, he has worked with numerous brands and startups worldwide to develop visual identities and brand strategies, including restaurant chains in Dubai.Amer also won first place in the "Sketch for Syria" workshop in Milan in 2017, organized by the UN, ESCWA, and IUAV University, focusing on design concepts for the reconstruction of Syria. His artwork has been displayed at EXPO 2020 Dubai, the Urbanist Art Gallery in Dubai, the Cairopolitan Design Gallery in Cairo, the WHY Festival in Florence, and the OFFF Festival in Vienna.He graduated with honors from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and visual communication.
